Dear HPS,

I write to you today with sad news. Takashi Maruyama, who was near and dear to many of us and one of the originators of HPS, passed away on Tuesday after fighting the last few years with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). Takashi was a tremendous physicist, a delightful collaborator, and a dear friend.

The Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 at 1:00 PM till 3PM. There will be a viewing time with coffee and tea, as well as a short program to celebrate his life.The viewing and program will be held at

CA-35 at Highway 92, San Mateo, CA 94402
 
There is a funeral website that just went online. It contains the service details, a place to share photos, as well as a place to post messages/memories if you are unable to attend in person.
