Parts are being shipped overnight from IBM and a technician will be on site again to make repairs tomorrow, Saturday Feb. 10.

The tape Library will remain out of service overnight.  The cause of the failure was a tape dropped by the robotic accessor  that landed vertically in the path of travel. Both accessors struck the tape and were damaged.

We anticipate that the library will return to service Saturday afternoon.

The JLab Tape Library is out of service this morning. A mechanical failure overnight is preventing both robotic accessors from moving. IBM has dispatched a technician to diagnose and repair the issue.

We will provide an update when we have an estimated time to recovery.
