We will add our bit to the two pager, which I agree should focus on capability and infrastructure.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [Isotope-prod] Isotope "one" pager

Everyone

We developed a “one"-pager in February 2016 in preparation for a DOE site visit that never happened. We should update it for this visit.

The focus on our ability to do both LCLS II and isotope production is crucial, so that section should remain - but now we can put actual photos showing that there is no interference.

Since they will also visit VCU, it would be good to add a half page on the ability of VCU to carry out separation of production quantities. (Jamal, Sundaresan, could you please prepare something?).

This means we will clearly exceeded one page - let’s aim for a two-pager!

I think we should be careful not to focus on what we want to propose for the next FOA. The program managers are not supposed to help us with that. The two-pager should focus on our capabilities in general. In the discussions, we will be asking for feedback on our previous proposal (a legitimate request), which will help us decide how to aim our next proposal. If they offer advice on how to aim the FOA proposal, we will be able to use that, but I believe we should allow that to happen naturally during discussions rather than put it as a topic of discussion.

All comments, criticisms, offers of photos, text, etc would be most welcome.

Thanks

Andrew
