Good morning,
Thank you Mike for the summary. I need to connect our grant administration people with the DOE staff. Do we have a name or names whom our staff could contact in this regard. I will work with Hari to coordinate our scope of work.
Thanks, and congratulations to all,
Jamal

Good morning,

Just for completeness we are referring to the attached proposal. We were told to expect the first year's funding to arrive as early as June. VCU funding will be sent directly to them through Chicago office but may take a few months. We did not talk about SDSMT involvement so Andrew should reach out to Doug. Summary of scope below:

  *   Demonstrate a target system that can handle ~50kW of beam power (Jefferson Lab);
  *   Quantify isotope/s yields and separation efficiency of 67Cu from the irradiated target (VCU);
  * Measure impurities (radioactive and stable), and characterize the radiochemical properties and quality of 67Cu (VCU)
  * Experimentally investigate optimal beam parameters for production and provide training opportunities for students. (VCU, SDSMT, Jefferson Lab).
Next steps are to refine the scope of work and get the budget set up. Hari agreed to coordinate the edits to the scope.

Mike

Subject: Telephone discussion with DOE-ONP Isotope program managers

Stuart, everyone

We had a short discussion with Marc Garland, the Isotope R&D Program Manager this afternoon.

The discussion took a totally unexpected turn. We were told that the DOE will fund our previous proposal at the level we previously requested, without resubmitting.

We stated that we would like to edit the proposal to cover the isotope R&D at the LERF rather than the CEBAF Injector.

We proposed to edit the report and update the budget within the next two weeks.

The funding for VCU will go directly to them, and they did not request any changes.

We will keep you informed.

Exciting!

Andrew
