Mike
I reached out to Doug Wells yesterday. In October 2016, he accepted a position at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology as vice president of academic affairs. His email is douglas.wells at nmt.edu <mailto:douglas.wells at nmt.edu>.
We have been working with Doug for many years and expect that this collaboration will continue. He brings a wide experience of radio-isotope production, specifically with electron beams. We hope he will also be able to supervise a student.
I would also like to be able to involve a local student, but that means we need to identify an academic supervisor.
Lots to think about.

VCU funding will be sent directly to them through Chicago office but may take a few months. We did not talk about SDSMT involvement so Andrew should reach out to Doug. Summary of scope below:
> • Demonstrate a target system that can handle ~50kW of beam power (Jefferson Lab);
> • Quantify isotope/s yields and separation efficiency of 67Cu from the irradiated target (VCU);
> • Measure impurities (radioactive and stable), and characterize the radiochemical properties and quality of 67Cu (VCU)
> • Experimentally investigate optimal beam parameters for production and provide training opportunities for students. (VCU, SDSMT, Jefferson Lab).
> Next steps are to refine the scope of work and get the budget set up. Hari agreed to coordinate the edits to the scope.
