Very interesting. It is clear that though the experiment was challenging in several ways, you learned a lot from it.

Decisions about funding of proposals from FOA 16-1588 out of the FY18 Isotope Program appropriation will likely be made in the late summer or fall of this calendar year. We cannot be specific about this until we have a more clear picture about the FY18 budget. However your proposal is still on the list of several under consideration.

Unfortunately the uncertainties are also impacting our office travel budgets. So for now, only the most critical travel is being approved for personnel in our office programs. Thus it is unclear when we might have an opportunity to accept your invitation to see first-hand your proposed isotope production facility.

Best regards,

Dennis
*********************************************************************************************************
Dr. Dennis R. We took the opportunity to set up the CEBAF Injector to evaluate our ability to deliver quality beams with the superconducting cavities at 4K. This has been a real success, opening the opportunity to carrying out small experiments in the Injector, while waiting for 2K. We therefore tried a small test of producing Cu67 from Gallium. I am attaching a synopsis of the results - the good, the bad and the ugly!

All the best

Andrew
