Dear Jon,

I have some suggestions/comments:

The motivation sounds a bit unfamiliar and readers might not get
some of the statements, like

'unique combination of additive quantum numbers' and
'relative ease of production'

My point is that to a more general audience it is not clear
what you mean here, why is that and what does it do for the
cause.

Also, I think it should be 'light quark mass ratio' instead
of 'strange-to-light-quark mass ratio Q'

the strange quark is considered light.

In general, the abbreviations BSM, CVPC, and Q are unnecessary
here, as the text does not use them further.

'The GlueX spectrometer at Jefferson Lab offers a
high-statistics sample of photoproduced mesons and a unique
degree of forward boosting in the lab frame (p ... 8 GeV) to
suppress backgrounds.'

You should say a number for the produced/expected eta
decays when talking about the 'offered' statistics. By offered
you mean with the present setup?

You need to explain: What is unique about the forward
boosting? Why that suppresses background (btw, a word to be
used as a singular noun).

Again, this sentence does not make it clear what your
message is.

'improve the granularity and resolution of the inner forward
calorimeter to improve sensitivity in key decay channels.'

Better to say that this requires the planned upgrade ...
Details of that do not belong in the abstract.

'the current status of eta detection with the GlueX
spectrometer'

eta _detection_ cannot be an issue for the GlueX detector.
What is your message here, what are you actually going to
present?

Best,
Su.
I was planning to submit an abstract at the Canadian Association

draft of the abstract, please let me know if you have any
thoughts. The deadline is on Feb. 28, I'm also planning to send
the abstract out to the GlueX mailing list in a day or so.
