Hey Golfers,
Now that the Super Bowl and the snow is over, it's time to get the ball rolling for the 2014 season. For the month of February, I'll contact the local courses and get the best deal they can offer to have the league play at their facility for this season. A vote by a majority will decide on which offer to accept. What everyone else will be doing this month is forming teams to enter into the league. If teams from last season want to stay together, or individuals would like to form a team, that would be fine. The requirements for a team roster is to include all skill levels, and MUST have a captain. No captain, no team! The league membership is open to all active SURA/CEBAF staff (including their spouses), retired staff, and members of the USER community. So contact your co-workers and spread the word that teams are forming. I would like to have postings placed across the Lab, and use whatever utilities are available to get staff informed about the 2014 season. As in years past, up to 8 teams with up to 8 players each made up the league. If that standard can continue, it should be a fun season. Depending on the number of teams for this season, each team should be able to play the other teams twice, with some rain dates included. There's also a chance to have some special event dates included this season. So, I need to know who the captains are or those that can be a captain (a captain must also be an active staff member). Also need to know who is not on a team so their names can be placed on the golf web page to let the captains know who is available. If team or roster changes are necessary, I'll inform those that are affected. Please contact me by email for all golf league issues.
