This past Monday was opening day for the 2015 season, and the weather was great. The teams scheduled for the Cardinal course, had to play the Back 9 due to cart path work being done on the Front. Too bad they can't work on that side every week, because the Back is fun to play. Anyway, everyone showed up and nobody had to play the CARD. Even being Week 1, we're seeing some players setting the Bar early. Playing on the Deer Run course, with four pars and a birdie, Chris Dreyfuss finished with the lowest score of 41. With help from his teammates (Tina Menefee ended with 19 points for the week high), Team 3 crushed Team 5 (78-22). Also playing on Deer Run, Team 6 beat Team 4 (61-39). Phillip Kessler, (in a losing cause), had four pars and a birdie for a 42, but got the low net of 34. The matchup over on the Cardinal course, had Team 2 getting past Team 1 (61-39). Matt Marchlik led the way with 16 points. Gayle Coleman welcomed back Denny Insley with 17 points. The best news of the day was that, the playing pace was under 2.5 hours. Good job! In a couple of weeks, that should be reduced to 2.25 hours. The scorecards and updated handicaps will get posted at a later time.
