Hello golfers,
In case you did not see it in the On-Target briefs I repeat the message below. Also some other news:
* The rules committee met and provided a draft revision. I'll be sending it in advance of our kick-off meeting so that we can discuss it.
* I have received info from 2 of 3 golf courses for our annual survey. When I get the 3rd I will send out the survey with the hope that all responses are received before we meet next Thursday.
Start of On-Target note:
JLab 9-Hole Golf League Forming for 2017 Season; Interested Golfers to Meet on Feb. 23
The Jefferson Lab Golf League is open to all current staff, retirees, users, and their spouses. All levels
of play and weekly availability are welcomed. The league typically fields eight teams in a 4-on-4 match
play format and the season runs from early April through early September.
A Get-Ready-Golf program of five lessons in a group format for new and returning golfers is also being
organized. This is a great way to get started as a newcomer or to just get tuned up for the upcoming season.
A 2017 organizational meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, in CEBAF Center, Room F113, from 12-1 p.m.
No food will be served at the meeting, but attendees are welcome to bring their lunch or purchase something
from the cafeteria.
In advance of the meeting, a survey of organizational questions and proposed changes to the league rules will be distributed.
The agenda for the meeting will cover:
* Overview of league play
* Discussion of results of the organizational survey
* Discussion of proposed rules changes
* Any other business
Individuals interested in joining the league may subscribe to the Golf League email list: jlab-9hgl at jlab.org . To subscribe to the
list, copy and paste this link into your browser and follow the steps to subscribe: https://mailman.jlab.org/mailman/listinfo/Jlab-9hgl
There is also a golf web page on the JLab Activities Group (JAG) website that is used to keep league members informed. Updates
for 2017 will be coming soon. Questions may be directed to Mike Spata, Accelerator Division, ext. 7497, or spata at jlab.org .
