How about a virtual league, we're pretty much doing that for everything else.

Just think how easy it would be going from 17 handicap to scratch golfer all from the comforts of you home.

I'm sure the Jag and Doc Chandler would sign off on that.

Sounds good. We may need to re-evaluate our handicaps too. I haven't played in some time ....maybe I have forgotten some of my bad habits.

The course did ask for those interested in golfing on Monday night to call by Sunday to reserve one of the slots we have available. If they don't fill up, then they will allow others to grab them on Monday.

Subject: [jlab-9hgl 01664] 2021 Season

Hello golfers,

The committee met last week to discuss possible plans for the 2021 Season. We concluded that we are essentially in the same position we were a year ago. The Lab would not approve a JAG sponsored activity to proceed while in MEDCON5 status. We talked about standing up a league that was independent of JAG but concluded that this would be perceived as going around the system and would not be appropriate.

Last year we planned a delayed start (30 days to flatten the curve) and begin sometime in May. Of course, that never happened, and the year was lost. I would like for the league to get through this. To that end I am asking Wes to post a poll for interest in playing this year so we can see where we're at with our present member list. I would also plan to put an announcement in the briefs as we typically do with a clear message that the start date will be dependent on Lab approval to proceed. In that same message we would solicit new players to try and grow the membership.

We're working on a modified format that would suit a shorter season so any suggestions would be appreciated. Send suggestions to Whit (wseay at jlab.org). My best guess is that we should be able to get started in mid to late June but who knows.

In the meantime, the course is willing to let us keep our nominal tee times, so I encourage folks to get out there and play.

Regards,
Mike
