***Customer Appreciation Event - NEXT SATURDAY***
Come out next Saturday for FREE Golf Clinics from our PGA Professional, Chip
Olenick. He will be teaching clinics on key parts of the game starting at
1000, 1030 and 1100. We will be having a free cookout at 1100 on our outdoor
grill. Also please join us for a mixer golf tournament at 1200. This will be
a 9 hole event that is free to members and only $20 to non-members and $15 for
Active Duty Military. The price includes your golf, cart and prizes. You
will be paired with partners randomly and play a 9 hole Captain's Choice
Format.
***2013 Member-Member Golf Outing***
The Member-Member is going to be held this year on Saturday and Sunday May
18-19. The event is free to enter (pay only your applicable cart fees). You
must be an annual member of The Pines to enter. The format will be different
for each nine holes. You pick your partner for two person teams. Find the
entry form attached. Call, email or come in to enter. This was one of our
most popular events last year so sign up quickly to take part in this great
Members' Event! If you want to play and you are not a member, it's not too
late to join.

***Tip of the Week - Using a wedge with the proper bounce***
What is Bounce on a wedge? That is a question I get asked many times every
week. Bounce is the angle at which the bottom of the club angles down below
the leading edge. This makes the club bounce through and out of the sand, it
also makes the club bounce up off the turf quicker as well. The best way to
determine which bounce is good for you is to refer back to the type of swing
you have. If you are a sweeper (takes no or very little divot - 8 degrees on
a 56 degree wedge) you do not need much bounce; if you are a digger (takes big
divots - 14 degrees on a 56 degree wedge) you need a lot of bounce; if you are
in-between the two you need a medium bounce (11 degrees on a 56 degree wedge).
If you main purpose of a wedge is just to get you out of the sand then you
want a club with the most bounce on it you can find. Playing the proper
bounce on your wedge will greatly improve your game around the greens. See
any one of our PGA Professionals or certified club fitters to help with this
or any other questions about your equipment.
