This week 24 new farm nodes, FARML1001-1024, will be installed into
JLab's experimental physics data analysis cluster, adding 24x8=192
Nehalem cores to the farm.

To make space and power available and to remove nodes past their
end-of-life, 24 HPC 4g (24x2=48 cores) and 21 2.66GHz nodes (21x2=42
cores) will be decommissioned. The net is then 102 additional cores.
Nehalem cores are at least twice the performance of the older generation
ones.

Sixty-four 32-bit 4g and 3.0GHz systems remain in operation, as well as
the 70 4-year-old HPC 6n Pentium-D nodes. 32-bit codes may be run on
the 64-bit systems as well, by setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
