[Jlab-scicomp-briefs] JLab qcdgw, scigw, bbftp offsite file transfers: Wed 4/10/13 10am-2pm upgrade

JLab scientific computing users,

On Wednesday April 10 at 10am, offsite file transfers with JLab through the qcdgw, scigw, and bbftp.jlab.org gateway systems will be unavailable, while they are upgraded:

- Globus Online file transfer endpoint will be available - https://www.globusonline.org 
- relocation from outside to within the upgraded JLab firewall - no more whitelisting hosts required
- 1 gigabit to 10 gigabit ethernet, and 40 gigabit Infiniband

These upgrades will speed up and simplify file transfers between JLab and offsite storage. Please plan offsite file transfers around this upgrade period on Wednesday.
