Work fileserver scifs2 issues:

The work fileserver scifs2 has been having issues which cause the system to crash. When this system crashes the interactive systems experience delays until the system has been power-cycled. Also any batch farm and desktop systems attempting to access filesystems served by this system will experience similar delays. The work areas that are affected include any work areas that are links to directories in:

/w/halla-scifs2
/w/hallb-scifs2
/w/hallc-scifs2
/w/general-scifs2

We are currently working with the vendor of the system to replace system components and remedy the issues with the system as quickly as
possible.


Scicomp/CNI Maintenance Tuesday October 20, 2015:

CNI will be performing maintenance on central fileservers which provide /mss, /apps, and /site Tuesday evening which will cause these areas
to be unavailable. In preparation for this a reservation will be placed on the batch farm system for earlier in the day to allow all running
jobs to finish before the outage. Jobs that are submitted which will not complete before the reservation will not be allowed to start; however
once CNI maintenance is completed the reservation will be lifted and jobs will launch as expected. During the CNI maintenance the batch farm (Auger) and mass storage system (Jasmine) resources will be unavailable.
