Dear JLab Scientific Computing and HPC Users,
There will be a brief interruption to the new /work fileservers (and HPC /home, /dist) at 9am on Tuesday, Dec 19, to add a new JBOD disk shelf for additional storage space. During this time, file access from scifs17enp and scifs17hpc will stall until service is restored.
Also, SIngularity 2.4.2 will become available, via the module command.
Regards,
Sandy

December 13 Briefs Excerpts:
IT Division Maintenance Period Set for Tuesday, Dec. 19
The IT Division is planning a maintenance period for 5-10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19. During this time, all MIS applications will be down while patches are applied to the backend databases; plan your work accordingly. There will be a few short network outages while systems are updated and rebooted. Also, Windows and Linux patches will be released to all Jefferson Lab-managed desktops and server systems. Overnight, some services may have a short outage while the underlying server is rebooted to finalize patch installation. Additionally, the www.jlab.org website will be down while an update is applied to the web servers. Finally, updates to core Common User Environment software will be delivered to all managed systems. Plan now to reboot your desktop no later than Friday, Dec. 22, to finalize patch installation. If you have any questions or concerns about this maintenance period, contact the IT Division Help Desk at helpdesk at jlab.org or x7155.
