Computing Round Table on September 10 at 1:00 p.m. (EDT), now F326-327
Dear all:
This is a reminder on today’s Computing Round Table at 1:00 p.m. (EDT), now in F326-327. James Stapleton (FNAL) will give an overview about "Software Management and Deployment for the Muon g-2 Experiment”:
"The Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab is at the intersection of high-energy and nuclear physics, and accordingly uses many tools which Fermilab provides to HEP experiments (including the event-processing framework, software distribution system, grid computing resources, and data storage on magnetic tape). Our software has evolved dramatically over the last few years as the experiment has matured. I will describe how our development workflow, release process, and distribution strategies have adapted to the changing demands of the experiment as the codebase grew from just a Geant4 simulation to a full suite of seventeen interdependent git repositories supporting event reconstruction, full-scale data production, physics analysis, online operations, and diverging codebases for separate physics runs.”
In addition, Amber will discuss recent and upcoming changes in Scientific Computing at Jefferson Lab to enable a more transparent understanding of hardware performance and utilization. The detailed agenda is available on: https://www.jlab.org/indico/event/307/
Due to the DOE review, there is a room change: At Jefferson Lab we will meet in F326-327. For remote participation, we will use BlueJeans (https://bluejeans.com/373678588).
More information about the Computing Round Table (upcoming meetings, previous presentations) can be found on: https://www.jlab.org/indico/event/307/ Our mailing list is organized via: https://mailman.jlab.org/mailman/listinfo/computingroundtable
Yours sincerely,
Amber, Chip, Graham, Mark, and Markus.
