Software & Computing Round Table, March 10, 11:00 a.m. (EDT)
Dear all:
In light of the ever growing role of Software & Computing in HEP, NP and related fields, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and Jefferson Lab (JLAB) are organizing a Software & Computing Round Table to foster the interplay of computing and science. The monthly round table forum aims to encourage knowledge transfer and to promote common projects within our scientific community.
In the Software & Computing Round Table on Tuesday, March 10, at 11:00 a.m. (EDT), we will discuss “Frameworks for Greenfield Experiments". The topic is inspired by Software & Computing discussions for the upcoming Electron Ion Collider. We are interested to hear about lessons learned and what would be the same or different if development was starting from scratch. We are excited to hear from Christopher Jones, Kyle Knoepfel, and Scott Snyder:
* Scott Snyder (BNL) will present "Future frameworks: ATLAS perspective”.
* Christopher Jones (Fermilab) will summarize "Lessons Learned from CMS Framework Development”.
* Kyle Knoepfel (Fermilab) will review "The art Framework: What It Is and Why”.
At JLAB we will meet in F224-225. For remote participation, we will use BlueJeans (ID: 373678588). You will be able to join via browser:
