Tuesday, June 21st 2022 is the monthly scheduled maintenance day for Scientific Computing and CNI. The following changes will be made to the Scientific Computing systems during the workday, prior to CNI maintenance at 5pm:
Globus
* The legacy Globus Endpoints, jlab#gw10 and jlab#gw12 will be retired as previously announced.
* Two new Globus servers running version 5.4 were brought online last month. These new, identically configured endpoints are jlab#gw1 and jlab#gw2. See the knowledge base<https://jlab.servicenowservices.com/scicomp?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0014843> article about Globus for details.
File Server Updates
* Software Updates will be applied to /work file servers for halls A, B, C, D and EIC.
* Updates will be applied in a rolling fashion, and interruption per filesystem should be limited to the length of a reboot and import, less than thirty minutes, sometime during the workday.
Open Science Grid (OSG)
* Routine updates for security and bug fixes will be applied to all systems with OSG software.
* Reboots of internet-facing OSG servers including submit hosts (scosg* machines)
LQCD
* Software updates will be applied to the 21g cluster
