Dear Jefferson Lab Scientific Computing Users:<br>

To reduce users' effort of carrying out complex data analysis on the
JLab farm clusters, a workflow software system called SWIF
(scientific workflow indefatigable
factotum) has been developed and is ready for BETA testing. The
design of the system was done by a collaboration between the
Scientific Computing group and the experimental halls, and was
implemented by the Scientific Computing Group with inputs from other
software developers and users. The system functions as a
middleman between a user and Auger system, and it provides the
following enhanced capabilities:<br>

<li>Job grouping and phased release</li>
<li>Tape-savvy job scheduling</li>
<li>Automatic classification of errors</li>
<li>Mass job modification, resubmission, recall, cancellation<br>

The software system is currently available as a command-line utility
at /site/bin/swif and its command options can be found via swif
