"Hypernuclear Physics with the FINUDA Experiment"
Stefania Bufalino

The FINUDA (FIsica NUcleare at DAINE) detector, a large acceptance and
high resolution magnetic spectrometer, is installed at one of the two
interaction points of the DAINE(e+e-) collider. The aim of FINUDA is
the study of formation and decay of Lamdba hypernuclei which are
produced by negative kaons at rest in a nucleus through the strangeness
exchange reaction. The FINUDA experiment from 2003 up to 2007 has
collected data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of the collider
of 1.2 fb-1 and thanks to the excellent performances of the apparatus,
several different research topics were successfully investigated.
The main results on the 7Li and 12C spectroscopy will be presented
togheter with the results obtained on the study of the hypernuclei weak
decays. In particular the results of the measurement of the proton
spectra following the NonMesonic Weak Decay of Lamda 5He, 7Li, 9Be, 11B,
12C, 13C, 15N, and 16O will be shown and discussed in the present
experimental and theoretical framework. The FINUDA experiment also
performed a systematic study of the charged mesonic weak decay channel
of p-shell -hypernuclei. The negatively charged pion spectra from
mesonic decay were measured with magnetic analysis for the first time
for Lambda 7Li, 9Be, 11B and 15N. It appears that the spectroscopy of
from MWD can be considered as a new tool for the study of the structure
of hypernuclei and for the determination of some relevant observables
like the hypernuclei spinparity. Finally the results on the study of K
absorption on multinucleon systems with the FINUDA spectrometer will be
presented. Besides giving insight into a rather poorly known mechanism,
it is an effective tool to investigate the highly debated subject of
antikaon nuclearbound system
