"The Next Generation Muon Source at J-PARC/MLF/MUSE" *

The Materials and Life Science Facility (MLF) muon group is currently 
constructing a high intensity muon source together with a set of four 
secondary muon beam lines at the Japan Proton Accelerator Research 
Complex (J-PARC). Each of the four muon beam lines are unique in their 
respective purpose and design, with possible applications ranging from 
muon spin resonance using ultra-slow muons to the search for charged 
lepton flavor violation.

Phase 1 of the construction has been concluded as of September 2009, 
with the completion of one of the four beam lines. Phase 2 involves the 
development and construction of an additional beam line (the Super-Omega 
Muon Beam line), which when completed, will produce the most intense 
pulse muon beam in the world. The seminar will give an overview of 
J-PARC/MLF, the physics programs that will be pursued, as well as the 
current status of its development and construction.
