"Neutrino Long-Baseline Experiments -- Where Electron-Scattering Data
Can Help"

The extraction of fundamental properties of the neutrino and the nucleon
from long baseline experiments with neutrinos require a precise
knowledge of the incoming neutrino beam properties as well as a detailed
understanding of neutrino-nucleus interactions. In this talk I will
discuss a nuclear-physics based simulation of such events on the basis
of the Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeckequation. I will first demonstrate the
successes and limitations of the GiBUUimplementation for photonuclear
reactions which test the vector domain of the electroweak interaction. I
will then illustrate how nuclear rescatteringand nuclear structure
information affect the neutrino-interactions with nuclei and the
extraction of fundamental neutrino-properties.and where electron data
could help to solve the recently observed 'axial mass problem'.
