"The FLUKA code: Design, Physics and Applications"*

*Alberto Fasso
Jefferson Lab/SLAC *

FLUKA is a general purpose Monte Carlo code for particle transport and
interactions. Its unique design features and original physics models
give it a high level of predictivity, as shown by numerous benchmarks
against experimental data, and allow it to be used in a large number
of very different applications: accelerator shielding and activation,
dosimetry and radiation protection, radiation damage, calorimetry,
particle physics (including neutrino physics), Accelerator Driven Systems,
cosmic ray research, space radiation, hadron therapy, etc.
Using FLUKA is easy and does not require any programming skill. Its
friendly interface has made it increasingly popular in recent years.
In this seminar the code will be introduced by stressing its most
important design features, followed by a short survey of its physics
models and by examples of successful benchmarks and applications.

If the audience will show a sufficient interest, the possibility to
organize a course at Jlab will be discussed.
