*Transverse and Spin Dependent Hadronic Matrix Elements: From Theory to 
Phenomenology **

I will review some of the recent developments in the QCD treatments of 
transverse-momentum-dependent hadronic
matrix elements both from the formal point of view as well as the 
phenomenological one. I will argue that such
developments are crucial to obtain a better understanding of the 
nucleons inner structure and their impact on
current and future experimental facilities. I will also discuss some of 
the remaining open questions that still need
to be further clarified and investigated.
