Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce a 1 day workshop entitled "Perspectives on
Superconducting RF", a workshop in celebration of the career of Peter
Kneisel, who will be retiring soon from Jefferson Lab. The workshop will
be held _Monday, May 19, 2014_ at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator
Facility, Newport News, VA, USA.
Circular:
This workshop will review the past, present and future status of SRF
technology for science and society. Speakers will be asked to highlight
significant developments in the field and challenges yet remaining. The
workshop will be useful for practitioners at all levels in the field.
Established experts will be able to share their experiences and
challenges with the community, mid career professionals will gain a
perspective on the evolution of the present technology and students and
newcomers to the field will gain a sense of the enormous potential still
to be tapped. The workshop coincides with the retirement of Peter
Kneisel, whose career has spanned almost the entire development of SRF
as a practical technology. Examples and anecdotes regarding Peter's
contributions are encouraged
