/Abstract/

Short-range correlations (SRCs) are the primary source of the high
momentum components of the nucleon momentum distribution in nuclei. Due
to the highly localized feature of these correlated nucleons, the
high-momentum tails from light to heavy nuclei reveal very similar
distributions when their momenta are above the Fermi momentum. With
measurements of inclusive electron scattering on different nuclei in the
quasi-elastic region, we are able to study the two- and three- nucleon
correlations (2N-SRC and 3N-SRC), by taking the cross section ratios of
heavy nuclei to light nuclei, such as Deuteron or He3. Clear and
consistent signatures of 2N-SRC have been observed at SLAC and more
recently in Halls B and Hall C. However, there is still no clear
evidence of the 3N-SRC because the Hall-B and Hall-C results yield
different results for x>2, the region where 3N-SRCs are expected to
dominate. The most recent experiment in Hall A, E08014, aimed to perform
a more precise measurement on the 3N-SRC. In this talk, I will briefly
introduce the SRCs, previous measurements and show some new results of
the E08-014 experiment, followed by some discussion of remaining questions.
