/“TMD physics at COMPASS: present and future"/

*Abstract:*

The COMPASS Experiment is a fixed-target spectrometer taking data since
15 years at the CERN SPS. After a brief mention of the rich and
diversified physics measurements which have already been performed or
are being planned, the talk will focus on the variety of physics results
which have been obtained in the domain of the recently introduced
transverse momentum dependent (TMD) parton distribution functions by
semi-inclusive deeply inelastic scattering (SIDIS) of 160 GeV muons off
transversely polarized proton and deuteron targets. In a complementary
approach, the first ever Drell–Yan measurement on a transversely
polarized proton target was the objective of the 2015 run, to address
the fundamental issue of the change of sign of the Sivers function when
measured in the Drell–Yan process as compared to that measured in SIDIS.”
