New Approaches in Exploring Short-Range Dynamics in Nuclei
Abstract:
With the energy upgrade of Jefferson Lab completed and with the hope that the approved experiments will run successfully there is an opportunity for probing nuclear dynamics at unprecedentedly short distances. The high energy kinematic conditions will be elaborated which define new approaches in probing short-range nuclear phenomena. These approaches allow to probe NN interactions at
repulsive core distances, verify the existence and the dynamics of 3N short range correlations, access the domain of hadron-quark/gluon transition, and to probe the dynamics of generation of quarks in nuclei with x>1. Several experimental signatures will be discussed that can be verified at JLab energies and measurable quantities that have direct relevance to the dynamics of super-dense nuclear matter .
