Investigating proton elastic form-factors with initial-state radiation 



Abstract: 



The discrepancy between the proton charge radius extracted from muonic hydrogen Lamb shift measurements and from elastic scattering experiments submits all existing measurements to scrutiny and questions our understanding of QED. One of the new experiments devised to provide new insight into the problem is the Initial-State Radiation experiment at MAMI, aimed at measuring the proton form-factors at very low momentum transfers. The features of this experiment and its main challenges and sensitivities will be discussed, together with the prospects for further measurements with even higher precision at A1 and MESA.
