Argentina *Baryons of the N=2 Quark Model Band in the Large Nc Limit*
Baryon spectroscopy has been essential for our understanding of QCD in
the low-energy regime. The quark model has since long time been a useful
tool to analyze the spectrum and properties of excited baryons. Recent
studies of lattice QCD calculations seem to confirm the quark model
classification scheme, strongly suggesting a connection between QCD and
the quark model. The generalization of QCD to Nc colors has proven to be
a powerful analytical method for studying the behavior of strong
interaction physics. There is an explicit relation between the quark
model symmetries and the QCD symmetries in the large Nc limit, in this
sense large Nc QCD provides important insight into the success of the
quark model.
I will present the results of a complete analysis of the spectrum of all
the states in the N=2 quark model band with Nf=3 in the large Nc limit
including the often disregarded antisymmetric multiplet [20, 1+]. In
this analysis, we included configuration mixing effects.
