Hi everyone,
Zachary Baldwin currently has $3000 donation for his William & Mary
Honors Fellowship. Right now he still needs our help to reach his goal
to $5000. If you could please forward this message to all your friends

*Subject:* 2018 Honors Fellowships - Zach Baldwin
Good morning everyone,
Please consider supporting Physics junior student Zachary Baldwin.
William and Mary Honors Fellowship supports students conducting research
for department Honors projects. A group of anonymous donors will match
all gifts $1 per $1 donating up to $50,000. Take advantage of this
opportunity to double your gift, with their match, by making a gift to
any of the Honors Fellowship projects.
Zachary Baldwin - /“Hello everyone, I am beyond excited to announce that
I have been accepted to continue my nuclear physics research project as
an Honors project! Starting today, my Honors Fellowship campaign goes
live in order for me to raise money to fund my research position at the
prestigious University of Glasgow, the fourth oldest English speaking
university in the world located in Scotland, U.K. Below is a quick
little video of me explaining my research. I'd love it if you guys would
watch it, share it, and if possible donate! Any and everything would be
greatly appreciated so that I can fulfill this dream come true. Thank
you so much in advance for your donations and your time! I will keep
everyone updated as my groundbreaking research unfolds.”

*Exclusive pi-zero production and Compton scattering at GlueX*
Hometown: Abingdon, Virginia
Department: Physics
Advisor: Justin Stevens
In order to quantifiably understand Quantum Chromodynamics, my Honors
Thesis will measure the sigma beam asymmetry in linearly-polarized
photon-proton collisions using data collected from Jefferson Lab. This
will determine whether phenomenological calculations are suitable for
Compton scattering and pi-zero production. My analysis of these two
specific reactions will help significantly with the study of meson
production and will provide a better understanding of the strong nuclear
force.
