Neural Network Parton Distributions from High Precision Collider Data
Abstract:
The NNPDF collaboration determines the parton distribution functions (PDFs) of the proton, a fundamental tool in the theoretical description of the high-energy scattering of this particle, from a global analysis of experimental data. Contemporary methods of artificial intelligence are used,
among which neural networks to provide a minimally biased parametrisation of the PDFs. In this talk, I review recent progress in the NNPDF analyses, including the impact of the most recent data from the Large Hadron Collider, the effect of including large- and small-x resummations, the determination of the strong coupling constant from PDFs, and a proposal to systematically include theoretical uncertainties in PDF determinations.
