The Importance of K-pi Scattering for Phenomenology
Abstract:
In this talk, we will point out the prime importance to have new and more accurate data on K-pi scattering. Indeed K-pi scattering represents a building block for hadronic physics. We will show how studying K-pi scattering allows us to test Chiral Perturbation Theory, the effective field theory describing the light meson dynamics at low energy. Moreover, this scattering is of high importance for
hadron spectroscopy and the extraction of the K^*(892) and Kappa(800) resonance parameters. Finally, we will show how K-pi scattering is a crucial input for testing the Standard Model and look for new physics.
