Towards a Consistent em-Current Operator From Chiral EFT

In recent years the application of chiral effective field theory (EFT)
to the few-nucleon sector has been very successful. Observables at low
momentum can be described in a unified framework for the two-, three-
and four-nucleon system with a rather high precision. In this talk I
show how the framework of chiral EFT allows for the consistent inclusion
of electromagnetic effects. I present our results for the one- and two-pion
exchange currents at next-to-leading order and compare these results to
currents obtained by other groups. I conclude by presenting resent results
of our numerical analysis of the deuteron form factors.
