"Heavy Quarkonia and the Exotics"</font></b>
<br>
<br>
Heavy Quarkonia, charmonium and bottomonium are ideally suited for
providing insight into quark-antiquark interactions. The knowledge of
the spectra of the bound states of both systems is now essentially
complete, thanks to the recent identification of the long elusive
spin-singlet states by the CLEO detector at Cornell, and the Belle and
BaBar detectors at the B-factories. A review of these experimental
developments and their understanding in terms of pQCD based potential
models and lattice calculations will be presented. The new challenges
now relate to the unexpected states being observed above the break-up
thresholds. The status of these so-called "exotics" will also be
discussed.<b><br>
