A model of the nucleon wave function is proposed. The model
consists of a relativistic quark-diquark representation of the bare
nucleon.
The effects of a pion cloud are also included. Parameters of the
model are chosen so as to reproduce experimentally measured form
factors, and a very good representation is achieved. A consequence
of the model is that the quarks carry only 36 % of the nucleon total
spin,
with the reminder being due to quark and pion orbital angular
momentum.
This result can explained as though starting from the naive quark
model and including a series of necessary modest effects.
