<b>"The New DIS and Drell Yan: Single Top Quarks
and W-prime Bosons</b>"</font>
<font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">The study of single-top-quark production has required the development
of new insights into every aspect of QCD: from the composition of the
proton, to the subtle nature of inclusive versus exclusive measurements,
to a general reinterpretation of the connection between theoretical
calculations and experimental observables. After a brief review of why
t-channel single top plays the modern role of deep inelastic scattering
in physics at hadron colliders, I will explain how s-channel single top
plays the role of a new Drell Yan. In particular, I will describe recent
model-independent searches for new charged vector currents (W-prime bosons)
and their implications for theory and experiment.</font></pre>
