Using Jet Substructure to Find Physics Signals at the LHC

Dave Soper
University of Oregon

There are several methods that use jet substructure to find signals
of interest in LHC data.
I will describe the structures in nature for signal jets and
background jets that these methods
try to take advantage of. Then I will present results from one
method, "shower deconstruction,"
that Michael Spannowsky and I have proposed.
