Possibility of New Light Hypernuclei

The spectroscopy and production mechanisms of light hypernuclei with
strangeness -1 or -2 are
revisited. There is already an abundant literature of the subject,
but the recent approaches to
inter-hadronic forces offer new possibilities of binding, for
instance, a neutral state made of two
neutrons and two hyperons. For a given set of scattering lengths,
the existence of such a Borromean
bound state depends crucially on the value of the effective range
parameter for the hyperon-hyperon
and hyperon-neutron interaction.
