Tenure-Track Faculty Position
in Experimental Particle or Nuclear Physics

Department of Physics, Virginia Tech

The Department of Physics at Virginia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the areas of experimental particle and nuclear physics.  Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated but exceptional senior candidates will also be considered.  The department has existing experimental research strengths in neutrino physics, heavy-flavor physics, weak interaction physics, and nucleon structure physics affiliated with the Center for Neutrino Physics (http://cnp.phys.vt.edu<http://cnp.phys.vt.edu/>).  Candidates who complement or extend existing research areas are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in physics or a closely related field, and postdoctoral experience.  The successful candidates will be expected to establish a vigorous research program, teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, continue development of scholarly activities and professional capabilities, and participate in department, college, and university governance.
