REGISTRATION NOW OPEN (DEADLINE JULY 10TH)
DESCRIPTION:
The Frontiers and Careers in Nuclear and Particle Physics Workshop (F&C)
is aimed towards bringing together grad students and postdocs in the
field of Nuclear and Particle physics to discuss research and career
perspectives in a friendly environment. Participants will have the
opportunity to present their work, develop skills, networking with
peers, and interact with a panel of experienced faculty members and
physicists in preparation for their future careers. Since its inception
two years ago, participants in the workshop have included members from
various universities and national labs all over the world, including the
U.S. and Europe alike. The workshop will begin with a reception at 6:00
pm on August 4th, 2016 followed by student talks. There will also be
plenary talks and networking sessions for the subsequent two days.
During the workshop, attendees will be granted the chance to speak with
leading physicists and esteemed faculty members regarding vital
interview skills and effective building of curriculum vitae.
Participants are highly encouraged to prepare a 15-20 minutes oral
presentation on their work. The workshop is very close to Gordon
conference and participants are highly encouraged to participate to the
conference after the F&C workshop. Overview talks as well as young
physicists talks will be a good preparation before attending the
conference.
PRELIMINARY AGENDA:
Students and postdocs talks, overviews, talks on career opportunities in
Europe and the US, CV and interviewing preparation, career panel
discussion with experts.
FORMAT AND SCHEDULE:
The workshop starts on Thursday, Aug 6th, 2016 with a reception at 6:00
PM followed by student/postdoc talks. The program on Friday includes
student/postdoc talks along with a possible lab tour followed by a
workshop dinner. The workshop will end on Saturday with a morning
student/postdoc talk session followed by an interactive CV session and a
career panel discussion.
REGISTRATION FEE:
The costs for registration including rooms stays are as follows: $190
for a single room and $150 for a double room. The fee will also include
food, drinks and conference supplies. More info on how to pay will be
sent out to the registered participants prior to the meeting. Dorm rooms
at University of New Hampshire will be available for students/postdocs
on Thursday and Friday night. For dorm room availability on Saturday
night, see below.

Dorm rooms on Saturday night at University of New Hampshire are
available. For rooms reservations and additional reservation, please
contact the organizers.
