We are accepting applications for the JSA Promising Young Scientist program for the academic year 2017-2018 which is funded by the JSA initiative fund. The application deadline is on 5pm on Friday May 12, 2017. For more information, see the user group wiki at
https://wiki.jlab.org/cugwiki/index.php/JSA_Promising_Young_Scientist
The program will assist chosen applicants in preparation for faculty interviews. We will assist the candidates in crafting a good colloquium or seminar talk, and collect constructive criticism from the audience. Selected applicant will travel to a host institution to present the talk, participate in a mock interview, and an opportunity to teach a class session. Feedback will be provided for all the components of the mock interview at the end of the visit. All applicants (accepted or not) will receive feedback on application materials (cover letter, CV and, statements). Several past participants who have accepted faculty positions have reported that the JSA Promising Young Scientist program has provided an excellent practice for their successful job interviews.
