Abstract:
Humans tend to err, this becomes especially problematic when trying to make comparisons
between individuals and their GlueX simulations. To avoid the pitfalls inherent in the
GlueX simulation chain, a consistent and easily distributed framework for generating
Monte-Carlo has been developed (MCwrapper). It integrates a large variety of use cases
and is designed to operate on a variety of batch systems in use by the GlueX collaboration.
Recently, the Open Science Grid (OSG) has been incorporated and successfully tested, thus
opening up new avenues for Monte-Carlo production for GlueX beyond Jefferson Lab. In
addition to the presented work done on simulations a new event viewer has been developed
for Hall-D. The event viewer, HDvis, brings a new technology to Hall-D as the visualization
itself is performed using three.js in a web browser. This opens up a multitude of
possibilities including “live” event streaming, detailed animations, and even virtual reality.
An overview of the new event viewer will be given as well as a demo of the virtual reality
and event streaming capabilities.
