From acp548 at uregina.ca Fri Feb 21 17:34:18 2025 From: acp548 at uregina.ca (Alicia Postuma) Date: Fri, 21 Feb 2025 22:34:18 +0000 Subject: [Kaon-LT] [EXTERNAL] Re: status of the p(e, e'pi+)n Beam Spin Asymmetries Paper In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Dear Colleagues: We request your feedback on the newest draft of our manuscript regarding the beam-spin asymmetry in exclusive pion electroproduction from the KaonLT experiment. As stated previously, the manuscript was not accepted in PRL, and has been modified for submission to Physics Letters B. Following referee comments from our review at PRL, we have made significant changes to the title, abstract, and introduction of the paper, such that the expectations better align with the results. In addition, we have added several clarifications about the experimental setup, which are indicated by bold type. The referee comments are also attached to this email for your reference. For authors, please double-check that your name and affiliation are correctly displayed. I have done my best to avoid errors during the change of formatting, but mistakes are always a possibility. If you have suggestions about the new draft, please send them to Alicia (acp548 at uregina.ca). We would like to submit shortly. Comments would be appreciated before Monday, March 3rd. Thank you for your input. Cheers, Alicia ________________________________ From: Garth Huber Sent: December 18, 2024 2:26 PM To: kaon-lt at jlab.org Cc: Tanja Horn ; Pete Markowitz ; Stephen Kay ; Vijay Kumar ; Richard Trotta ; Ali Usman ; Nathan Heinrich ; Julie Roche ; Casey Morean ; Muhammad Junaid ; David Gaskell ; Peter Bosted ; Alicia Postuma ; Konrad Aniol ; Konrad Aniol ; Abdennacer Hamdi ; Argha Das ; Wenliang (Bill) Li Subject: status of the p(e,e'pi+)n Beam Spin Asymmetries Paper Dear KaonLT Colleagues, Unfortunately, our manuscript of the pi+ BSA from the KaonLT experiment was not accepted by Physical Review Letters. The paper was ultimately reviewed by 4 referees. Despite getting mostly positive reviews, we were unable to convince all referees that our work fit the PRL criteria, and it was rejected. We did, however, get an expression of interest from the editors of Phys Rev C and Phys Rev D to publish our work there, hopefully without further referee review. We have also discussed submitting instead to Physics Letters B, as we think that might be a better fit for this work. We are working to implement the most recent referee suggestions, and plan to re-submit in January, either to PRC or Physics Letters B. We will send you a PDF of the updated manuscript for your review in early January. Thank you for your contributions thus far.
