Dear Carlos,

That looks generally good. I agree with Holly’s comments. Here are a couple more.

Slide 14: I suggest adding the line:
Measure F2_n as a function of initial momentum
Indicate somehow that you detect the e’ and the p
tag backward protons

How does F2_n depend on initial neutron momentum?

  *   Measure spectator-tagged DIS d(e,e’ p_s)X
     *   tag backward protons 300 < 600 MeV/c
     * new Large Acceptance Proton detector

Which nucleons are modified?

Slide 18: too many words

  *   11 GeV, 1 uA electron beam
  *   20-cm liquid deuterium target
  * detect electrons in HMS and in SHMS (13.5 and 17.5 degrees)
  * detect protons in GEMs and LAD
  *   0.3 < x’ < 0.6
  *   34 beam days

Hi Carlos,

I have a few comments:
Slide 7: You haven’t said yet what is SRC
Slides 8-10: You mention the back-to-back momentum, but you might mention that it is large, and then also mention that in position space, they are overlapping or close together.
Slide 12: You may need to write something on the slide more about the kinematics of the plot or what the take-away is.
Slide 14: It may be helpful to replace the green line with an arrow or something as it’s a little unclear looking at the diagram that the recoil proton is the proton from the reaction (so show that it is a result of the reaction).
Slide 15: I think you want to keep the jet spray on all the red neutrons so it doesn’t look like it disappears with the increasing spectator momentum
Slide 21: You can remove my picture. The GEMs were made by UVa and I’ve had some support from other students and postdocs that I don’t want to leave out.

I think you never really described F2 on any slide….you might have it described somewhere at the beginning just so it is clear what it depends on and what we measure.

Slide 27: You should mention that we have had GEM support from UVa (they are making a spare for us now, specifically Huong Nguyen). Crucial support also comes from Ching Him Leung (JLab postdoc-in fact he is the GEM expert right now), Asar Ahmed (UVa postdoc), Vimukthi Gamage (UVa student), Xinzhan Bai (now JLab staff). You could highlight their names on the GEM slide perhaps.

See you in California,
Holly

Subject: [Lad_hallc] GHP slides
Dear LADers,

find attached the slides I prepared for the GHP workshop. Feel free to suggest add-ons and/or modifications to them. I believe there is plenty of time to present these slides (20+5 min).

Anyhow, whatever you suggest, will be applied tomorrow (but will be applied!!)

Thank you so much!

Cheers
-Carlos
