Hi Jerry,



Safety did an assessment and said that 18” is OK. This will leave 50” in the 
aisle, they wanted a minimum of 48”. The SSA doors are easily removable with 
an 18” gap. Kevin can talk about the other questions you have.

I think by code you have to have 3 ft spacing.

Also with 18" spacing behind some of the SSAs you will not be able to open 
the back door of SSA cabinet if access is need. These cabinets are 30" wide. 
Is that a concern?



What I could do as an option is to install RF Interface chassis and 
contactors in the rack.This would eliminate the need for the access to the 
old racks.

In this case I'd need a floor space for additional rack.



A separate issue is power connections from PSS to SSAs.

What is the planned location of the PSS panel (assuming we'll go with this 
solution)?

What are the planned cable paths?

Are you planning for cable trays etc.?



We might be more effective discussing these issues in person. Please set up 
a meeting with interested parties if you think it's going to be 
better/faster way.

Yes the tape is within an inch of final location, it looks to be 32”from the 
rack to the SSA, is that enough?

I'd like to raise concern regarding the spacing behind the SSAs.

The first rack to the left of HPA houses PSS RF Interface chassis and cross 
connects. Access to the front of this rack is required for PSS Certification 
and in case of maintenance.

We'll have to check if there will be enough space to perform these duties.

Could someone estimate the spacing from the back of the SSA to this rack? 
Can I depend on floor marking for this measurement?
