The theme of this year's PhysicsFest is "Physics in the Movies" and we promise that it will be a blockbuster! In line with this theme we have expanded our photo contest with cash prizes to allow for short video submissions as well.</div><div><br></div><div>Schedule of events on October 18:</div><div><br></div><div>* At 10am we start the day with poster presentations by our undergraduate students. Come and see what the next generation scientists and researchers are up to.</div><div><br></div><div>* From noon to 4pm the doors are open to our research labs with guided tours.</div><div> Prof. Seth Aubin - Bose-Einstein condensates and quantum optics</div><div> Prof. Todd Averett - Polarized helium glass targets at Jefferson Lab</div><div> and several others...</div><div><br></div><div>* Starting at noon we open the observatory on the roof of Small Hall for daylight astronomy (weather permitting).</div><div><br></div><div>* The schedule for the public science lectures is:</div><div> Prof. Ale Lukaszew: "The Invisibility Cloak: Now in a physics lab near you!"
