Hi all,
here are some updates about the eg6 readout electronics.
I`ve modified the program which set-up the readout system, according to
Magnus and Attiq indications, to perform a parallel readout (i.e. if
there are FECs on both branches, RCU reads first a channel from one FEC
on branch A, then a channel from another FEC on branch B, then another
channel from the previous FEC on channel A and so on).
I`ve done some tests to see what is the maximum trigger frequency after
this change, and here are the results.
You can find every file at http://www.jlab.org/~celentan/test.tar.gz
1) Using 4 FECs on both branches (0 1 16 17) and zero suppression with
threshold 200 chs, the maximum trigger frequency is 4740 Hz.
Event size -> 2116 Bites
Bump of readout list -> test_new1.txt
2) Using 4 FECs on both branches (0 1 16 17) and zero suppression with
threshold 73 chs, the maximum trigger frequency is 4560 Hz.
Event size -> 3000 Bites
Bump of readout list -> test_new2.txt
3) Using 6 FECs on the same branch (0 1 2 3 4 5) and zero suppression
with threshold 200 chs, the maximum trigger frequency is 1640 Hz.
Event size -> 3140 Bites
Bump of readout list -> 6same.txt
4) Using 6 FECs on both branches (0 1 2 16 17 18) and zero suppression
with threshold 200 chs, the maximum trigger frequency is 3220 Hz.
Event size -> 3140 Bites
Bump of readout list -> 6different.txt
5) Using 8 FECs on both branches (0 1 2 3 16 17 18 19) and zero
suppression with threshold 200 chs, the maximum trigger frequency is
2440 Hz.
Event size -> 4164 Bites
Bump of readout list -> 8different.txt
Sorry i did not use the lowq mailing list but seems that i can't post on it.
Best Regards
Andrea
