Happy day after Earth Day, everyone-
I'm writing to let y'all know that we have begun the process of converting 21g from CentOS Stream 8 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. As part of the upgrade the installed ROCm versions will be reduced to just 6.3.4. Note also that the filesystem mounts will follow the convention on 24s (/qcd/lustre, &c.).
Because these are potentially incompatible changes, I am encouraging users of 21g to take the opportunity to test before all nodes are converted. Currently converted are the qcdi2002 interactive node and qcd21g08, the latter reserved to prevent it from eating any incompatible jobs. Upon confirmation of success with qcd21g08, we intend to convert another to allow MPI testing, and then afterwards to proceed with converting the remainder and qcdi2001.
Please let me know if you would like to be added to the reservation, or if you are unable to successfully test your applications on qcdi2002 and/or qcd21g08. Thank you!
-Laura
